    Prenatal perternity testing
    Is this something offered in north Carolina. And is it a fee to have this done by your local ob

    There are numerous locations for testing in North Carolina. Your doctor, however, will likely not order the procedure unless there is a medical need. The fee will vary depending on which company you go through... roughly several hundred dollars to well over a thousand. Insurance will not cover this fee merely to find out paternity.

    Best to check with your doctor to see what is available close to you.

    Agreed, it will not be done for merely trying to find out who the father is. That is done after the child is born, Since custody, child support and other family court issues can not be done till the child is born anyway.

    If there child prior to birth has some major health issue and knowing who the other parent is , it can be done but only with the doctors order, since it can cause harm to the child in some cases.
