I just received my first DUI last year in Thurston County and was put on a two year deferred prosecution program. I have my medical marijuana card, but I have not talked to probation due to the fact I am afraid they won't let me use my medication. I however cannot wait any longer due to the building pain and want to ask probation if I am OK to use this for my intractable pain, muscle spasms, asthma, migraines and nausea. Has anyone else been in this position with probation at the courthouse-not in Lacey, and had their probation officer approve this? And if so how did you go about bringing up the topic and battling it if need be? I am extremely well educated on the pros and cons of medicinal marijuana, however I don't think most probation officers are. I am worried I will be shot down and have to go back to taking large amounts of narcotics again (prescribed of course) to try to (UN-successfully) control the pain and risk much worse health issues than medical marijuana could ever bring about (which if you have done your research you will find most of what you read regarding negative health effects is not actually backed up by true science), including with-drawl from the narcotics and liver/brain damage.

I'm just up the road from you, and I have SOME experience..

While it wasn't probation, per se, that I was on, it WAS court supervision with DOC probation officers running the program... They had NO problem with my Medical Marijuana usage.
