    Can my friend give me her baby
    My friend is pregnant and doesn't want to keep the baby at all. Can she just give me her baby when its born. And it be free?

    It doesn't appear to place any restrictions, but I doubt if it would be free. There will be court costs. And, frankly, I would not do this without an attorney to make sure everything is done proper and legal.

    To answer your specific question, no she can't just give you the baby. You have to go through the adoption process. The father will also need to be consulted and agree. A court will have to approve the adoption. Generally the court will require a home study to ensure the child will be well cared for.
