No there is no garbage disposal and it really doesn't smell like it's coming from the drain. The smell just smells up the whole kitchen and some of the house the snow is really bad when I open up the cabinet under the sink or in the closet where the washing machine and water heater are?

If the smell isn't coming from the drains then there must be a open pipe either in the wall behind the sink cabinet or from then washer. Where's the smell the worst? Let me know, Tom

No bad smell is GOOD for your health. Having said that sewer gas would be more harmful then rotting food. This sounds like sewer gas rather then anything else. When you drain the sink or washer do you hear any noise? Say, like a gurgle? Back to you, Tom
