My mum keeps getting chest infections?
My mum is 70 and keeps getting chest infections, she is not asthmatic and she is now on her 4th course of antiobiotics, very short of breath and has to keep clearing her throat. She has requested a chest X-ray but GP said not necessary. Can we insist on one, she has not been well since xmas.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards

I assume that she doesn't smoke?
And that she is not overweight or have other known health problems?
Has she been checked for allergies, is her house overheated and stuffy and dusty, does she eat a healthy diet?
An X ray would show the congestion, that's it, unless she has underlying disease.
Now I had months of what she is going through and it turned out to be an infected TOOTH under a crown that I didn't feel pain except for sore gum in one area!
So have her see a dentist too.
