Help don't know if I this is a HIPPA problem?
I work at a doctors office received call from a workers comp ins. They asked for patient information like date of service reason for visit etc.. I had them verify patient DOB and SSN. We did not bill patients date of service as workers comp. I'm a violating hippa if I would have disclosed info to the workers comp insurance? They where requesting info because patient hired attorney regarding an injury, attorneys office gave them our info.

I don't think you violated if you can prove this was worker's comp. If the patient filed a WC claim, then they signed a form allowing WC to get info.
