My ex-girlfriend and I had been going out for 20 months. I asked her out May of our junior year in high school. We had the most amazing relationship ever. I consider her the most beautiful girl in the world and I love this girl so much. Anyway, we made it our first semester in college (our schools are about 2 1/2 hours away) and it was fine. I saw her 3 times excluding Thanksgiving Break. Second semester started and about a week and a half ago she called me and told me that she can't take the distance. We spoke on and off for about a day and she basically said that maybe we can be friends in the future.

There were absolutely no problems with our relationship. We didn't treat each other horribly or anything like that. I waited a week and spoke to her two days ago and she was still firm on her stance. She is pledging for a sorority, plays tennis, and goes to a tough school. Her schedule is crazy but it was worth it all to me. Her best friend and some girls in her sorority were surprised that she broke up with me. I also heard she was depressed all of last week. She said she wants to experience new things. I get that. I do. But I feel she is making such a huge mistake. Not that I am some hot shot but I can honestly say I thought I was going to spend my life with this girl.

Should I wait? I think its worth it. I think she will come back. Or should I do my own thing and focus on myself and maybe she will realize? All of my friends from back home were shocked because she was never the party girl or anything. It doesn't make sense.

Well yeah it doesn't make sense at all but maybe she just have a crush on some other guy I know it;'s horrible to say that or maybe she just want to focus on her future right now but look if it's a mistake it's not your problem she'll realise it later but you just try to move on and focus on your future and dreams maybe after all she'll know that it was wrong breaking up with you after all but you also can't wait a lifetime for her so try your best getting over it you never know what's hidden out there for you ;)

Don't wait. Move on. She's just cut you out of her life. And you must do the same. I don't think waiting will get you anywhere.

And also try not to be friends with her too, it won't work out, and there will be more heart breaks.

Leave her alone and do your own thing. If she changes her mind she knows how to let you know, but don't hold your breath waiting.

Sorry for your loss, but when you get dumped, it never makes sense. That's why break ups suck!
