    GE refrigerator troubleshooting TFH22PR?
Older maybe 15 yrs. But... too poor to replace. Freezer unit collects water at the bottom of the door, then freezes and thaws and then leaks on the floor. This is a through the door, water, ice unit. Is there a drain that could be plugged. Just pooked a screwdriver down a "drain" in the back. Is this good or bad? Late to ask but...

Shirley, chances are your refrigerator defrost drain is plugged. The drain in the back, the one where you poked the screwdriver through, try pouring some water down it to see if it is plugged. If it's plugged, the water that is melting off your refrigerator evaporator during the defrost cycle, is pouring out on the freezer floor and freezing. If it's clogged, get a cheap manual pump sprayer, fill with hot water and spray until it is clear. This should fix it.

Make sure and clean under the refrigerator, as well. You have coils and a drain pan that are probably very dirty. I have found that the best way to clean all this out is with a water hose with sprayer and a wet vac. Unplug unit and remove rear cover (It will have to be replaced before running unit.) and also take off front kick plate. You can slide out drain pan and clean it then spray dirt off coils and clean fan blade. Let dry and vacuum up water. Replace drain pan and rear cover but make sure drain is clear, first. If it still stops up you may have a bad drain heater.
