I have a 70 years old building with the gas pipes on bad condition, someone recommended to get a globe or bottle gas test, I would like to know what is that test and how to do it.

I don't know what a globe or bottle test is, but I am a licensed plumber/gas fitter and am glad to discuss how to test a gas system for leaks if you want.

Like Mark, I am not familiar with globe or bottle test for gas piping. If you like, we can tell you the correct way to do it, but it can get fairly involved. I would suggest hiring a licensed plumber to come in and do the testing for you. They will have all the tools, fittings, and other equiptment as well as the knowledge to test the system correctly and to code. When it comes to gas piping and testing, there is absolutely no room for error.

Mark & Tom, thank you for your reply; This is a building with 8 apartments; we changed the heating system from a central system with a boiler operated by oil to a new gas heating system. Now Con Edison requires we separate cooking gas and heating gas, for that we need to install separate meters for each one. The plumber (licensed) wants to avoid the pressure test on the lines, that's way he recommended the bottle/globe procedure, but I would like to know if that procedure is safe and how is done.

Ive never heard of this. Nothing of the sort in any of my years of plumbing/gas pipe training. Sorry I can't be of assistance on this one.
