Have you and your partner both had some fertility testing done? If so, what sort of tests have you had so far? If not, it may be something to consider.
Most couples will become pregnant within a year of trying, but many do take longer and it doesn't necessarily mean that there was a problem conceiving. Timing is only part of it... albeit a large part.
Have you tried various means of determining when you might be most likely to ovulate each cycle? Have both of you made lifestyle changes that would be healthy so that you both can be in the best possible condition to help with conception? For example, smoking can be one cause for a delay in conceiving.
