    Unrealistic materialistic boyfriend?
He earns 3 times the salary as I do, he drives a flash car. I have had to give up my car because I can no longer afford it. He is going on holiday without me because he says I can't afford it. Is it just me or does that seem wrong to other people in relationships?

If you are not living together and just dating, it sounds right, he is not suppose to be buying or paying for your car, he is not suppose to pay for trips unless it is a joint trip.

Once you get serious and are living together, then it is somewhat different

How long have you been together?

Is this a pattern in your relationship? Does he consistently make plans that don't include you because you 'can't afford it'?

Do you spend time together and communicate with each other?

Was there any attempt at communication and a compromise or did he just present you with his plans and that was it?

If money wasn't a factor would there still be issues in the relationship? If he is not respecting you as a person and communicating with you as an equal, then there is more wrong with the relationship than finances.

What else is worrying you about his trip?
