Where do you live?
Start in the phone book calling social services (blue pages in the US) about applying for welfare and public housing (which usually has a waiting period). Let your landlord know - who is on the lease? Find relatives for now, someone, or even a roommate or 2 who can pay rent. Answer button below.

Are you saying that's all you know about him?
You don't know his name, address, phone number?
Assuming that I am mis-interpreting what you wrote, I suggest that you immediately contact the child support agency in your jurisdiction and get them working on getting him to pay child support.

Thank you for wanting to offer support for our members. However, since you are new here, you may not fully understand how this site works. We are a Q&A site. Please come here and ask for help or advice with a problem. This is especially true in forums like the Law forums where answers need to deal with the law.
We may offer moral support, along with the advice, but not by itself. Please remember this in the future before responding.

Marlyn.
The very first thing you need to do is call Social Services. You need immediate help to provide support for your child. Social Services will provide some assistance in finding the father and going after him for child support, but that will take time. It is also possible. That he may evade his support obligation by going underground. He won't be the first deadbeat parent.
What did you do before you got pregnant? Were you working? Did you leave that job on pregnancy leave? They may be required under FMLA to hold the job for you.
More details (ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.) may help us help you more.

Have you contacted Social Services?
Of course he refused to help. You were a one night stand. He didn't expect and doesn't want a child from that. But he has a legal responsibility and you need to enforce that by filing for child support.

You need to go your local family court and file a petition for support.
I would also check with someone else at social services. If you are an adult, your parents shoudn't enter into it.
