    Leaky shower
Hey! I have an upstairs stand up shower leaking through the ceiling downstairs. The showers is four pieces (three walls and the floor) instead of one. We have taken part of the ceiling off downstairs and find that the water is dripping (small drip) from a nail beside the p-trap (sp?). The water only begins to drip after it has been running for at least twenty minutes or more. Well, a few days after taking the sheetrock below the leak out, it stopped leaking, and hasn't in almost two weeks. I do not want to put the sheet rock back up and find the leak is coming again. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Let's see if we can localize the source of the leak. Remove the strainer and close off the drain by jamming some wet rags in the drain. Now fill the base with a few inches of water and watch the ceiling for a leak. If there's moisture then you have a ruptured drain seal. Click on back and we'll give you instructions on how to repair it.
Let me know what you find, Tom
