    The oldest historical data I could find is for Jan 2012. On Jan 2 1962 it closewd at $110.75, which on a split-adjusted basis is equal to $2.23. If you're asking in order to determine cost basis for shares you have held since December 1961 for tax reporting, you can use the $2.23 figure for adjusted purchase price per share.
