some pictures won't show up on myspace.com.
why don't some pictures/images, whatever, show up on myspace.com? Instead there is a red x in a box in the upper left hand corner. Is it norton? A virus? Settings? I thought it was myspace, but the pictures show up on my laptop.

Are these pictures you are uploading to your picture gallery, or are you trying to link these in messages/comments?
Also, Myspace doesn't like certain image formats for different things. For instance, a PNG file will show find the gallery, but if it is your default photo, it will not show in Chat.
Can you be more specific as to what you are trying to do with the photos?

They are not pictures that I'm uploading. A lot of "my friends" pictures aren't showing up and pictures on their my spaces aren't showing up. Does that make sense? :) and it's only on my desk top that they don't show up. If I get onto myspace.com on other computers all the pictures show up.

Perhaps. Does it show up on other computers, or is this isolated to your PC. Have you tried another browser, such as Firefox? Have you tried reinstalling IE. Just trying to get to the root of the problem, because right now it is a little vague.

They show up on other computers. But, some of my friends have the same problem. It doesn't seem to make a difference if they use Firefox or IE. And it's only on myspace.com

Strange. So just to make sure I understand: only some pictures don't show up correctly on Myspace only. Other images on other websites are fine. Other people may have had this problem, but some people can view the images in question. Is that a fair summation?
Are the images that don't show up all the same file type? jpg or .gif or .png?

Yeah, that sounds right. And they are all different file types. It's weird that you've never heard of this, because I know a few people that have this problem with my space.

The red x indicates a broken link. Either the browser can't find the image file its linked to, or its not the right format.

So, it's a problem with my IE then? Because the pictures show up on my laptop just not my desk top. If it was the wrong format then they wouldn't show up on any computer, right? Do you think I need to reinstall IE?

I asked in #4 if you had tried that. It certainly wouldn't hurt, and may fix the problem.

If it works on some machines but not others, check your security levels and Advanced settings. It may just be you are set to block images.

It's your firewall, we had this problem all the time, close your firewall program and refresh, if this does the trick, get a new firewall program. Zonealarm caused us much headaches with this.

Are you putting them on your page (you using correct code?) or does it not work when you look at your picture list?

My friend is having the same problem. It also includes the music links. He gets a box with an "x", instead of pics. If a person has a music file, that palys when the page is opened, it's "x"ed out also. Could it be a problem with JAVA?

What's also strange is that when I look at my friends profiles, it indicates they have a certain number of friends yet only show a portion of those pictures. For instance, my friend says she has 15 friends but only 13 pictures show. No, there are no boxes with red "X's" in them (as if a bad upload or corrupted picture). I didn't think there was a way to hide friend's pictures from the site. I really don't think it's a security setting either. Has to be something on the MySpace end...

I don't know who here is familiar with myspace but maybe someone can help out here. A young friend of mine received a comment on her page from another friend. The comment consists of the results of a quiz from another site. Normally if you want to delete a comment all you have to do is click edit...
