    How can I disconnect the water
    I almost never use the water feature, but want to keep the icemaker function. Believe there is a relatively simple way to disengage the water function, which I assume would put an end to my intermittant "leak". Can someone give me a step by step approach. Thanks much

    First, where is it leaking? The water comes in a common inlet for both water valves. To disconnect the water just unplug the water solenoid for water dispenser. You should be sure to clean the coils on the refrigerator every six months, so remove front kick plate on bottom of unit and then pull it out from the wall. Clean it with spray of water on coils. Then you can see everything well. Find water valves by following line coming in from wall. Have someone press water switch and feel of valve to see which one activated. Unplug the two wires on top which will be in one rubber plug. Test again and nothing should happen. That's it. Put covers back on and vacuum up water from cleaning.

    Thanks drtom444. First, the leak ---It intermittently comes from beneath the left side front of the freezer side. Believe it happened about once every several days, although it might have been daily, with the limited amount of water---about 1 to 2 cups, possibly having evaporated and/or soaked into areas between wood floor boards. Anyway, based on some of the comments I read in the thread, it seemed to me that the leak could be caused by the freezer thermostat being set too low, in turn causing the subject water line to freeze. I raised the setting yesterday, and while I haven't had another leak since, based on the frequency of the leaks mentioned earlier, it might be too early to see if the problem has been solved. If it recurs, I will be following the steps you outlined. Thanks again.
