Hello:

Who'd win - Israel or Iran? If Israel bombed Iran, should they send in ground troops? Should we? Iran WILL close the Strait, and that'll FORCE us in, won't it? What will the other Middle Eastern countries do?

If Israel doesn't bomb Iran, will Obama? Do we need WW III?

It may be too late to prevent. The 12'ers are firmly in control in the country and we did nothing to support a people's revolt like we did in the Maghreb .
Israel has to do what is necessary for their security.

It's cold in Kamchatka and very volcanic, no guarantee of safety.

Brinkmanship always gives interesting questions and it is easy to play brinkmanship when there is no common border.

You can play our missile/bomb is bigger than your missile/bomb as Iran is apparently doing at the moment or you can play economic consequences such as if you play in our sandbox we will take away your oil.

Fact is Iran shot itself in the foot a long time ago and no amount of big mouth fist shaking will change the fact that it doesn't have the capability for a naval conflict or a decisive strike against Israel ot the US. I think we should allow the shiites and the sunnies to have another stoush about who is doctrinally correct. Saudi Arabia certainly has the capability and the need to protect its economy

As far as who would win I believe Israel would win. I think the real question is in the end who will be the biggest losers ?

Dad in any conflict we all loose. Surely we have learned that in the last ten years if not earlier. There are no winners in war, there is just bragging rights for politicians and the military. In the twentieth century wars the winners didn't come out ahead in some cases they were economically devistated or stuffed up in other ways.

Did the Iraq war advantage the US? Well it doesn't look economically prosperous to me. Would Israel win in a war with Iran. Given its surface area it might suffer significant damage whereas Iran would probably lose Tehran all that will happen is Israel will loose a protagonist and stir up many others.

We have to loose the idea of winners and loosers in the twentieth century wars.

Yes Tom very dangerous rhetoric but we have heard this sort of thing before, it seems Islam comes with delusions of grandure. The last time the US reacted to this sort of nonsense they invaded Iraq, do we really want to go down that road again? This time they might face a better equipped and more resolute enemy

Starting a war over scary tough talk is stupid. The ones you need to scare are the Chinese and Russians, who are the biggest wimps in the world.

Somehow I don't remember those guys being wimps, a lot of Russian soldiers died keeping Hitler busy and they would have taken all of Eurpope if the allies hadn't got their finger out.

And as I recall the Chinese kicked a lot of but in Korea before being forced back to the 38th parallel

But you keep telling yourselves that it it gives you comfort. Please remember the Chinese and the Russians are paranoid, their countries have been invaded a lot over the centuries and they have lost many millions of people, how many have you lost as a result of invasion?

Hitler detailed what he was going to do long before he did it . Even as he was doing it no one believed him until it was too late .

Tom so for the Iranians, just as for Hitler, the Jewish question is unresolved but for the rest of us we don't want to go there again.

From what I observe the Muslims are big on talk and slow on action, right now the Iranians feel threatened and the only target close enough to lash out at is Israel which sits as a shinning example of how you can exist without being a Muslim
