Brand new (3 months old) Peerless Gas Boiler
Series MI/MIH 170,000 BTU unit installed 11/11 and all of a sudden... no heat. Called for service and was told they will be out tomorrow and he will decide if it is covered under warranty or not. What could not be covered under warranty? No flooding, no tampering with the product; I am a lady that is not familiar with the ways of mechanicals, however, I don't want to be charged for a service call and at least want a suggestion of how to prevent this; if it is not warranted.

Anything to do with the boiler itself should be warrantied. However, if they installed a new boiler, but say, an existing pump, or control is fualty, that won't be under warranty. Only the items they installed will be covered. Any items that were left in service from the previous boiler will have to be replaced at your expense most likely.
