    Sewage ejector and odour?
We have a finished basement with a sewage ejector into a sceptic system. Whenever the sewage ejector kicks in, it sucks the water from the toilet and bathtub pipe upstairs and within minutes a foul odour is emitted. The only way to get rid of the odour is to run water into the bathtub. There is enough water left in the toilet to stop the odour from the toilet itself but everything is connected. I have had different plumbers in and each has a different solution (adding an additional vent through the roof, reconnecting the sewage ejector at a different spot on the pipe going to the sceptic system or changing the sewage ejector. Each of these options are expensive and I am not confident they will resolve the problem. Any suggestions, all comments welcome!

I was waiting to hear." Let's look for a blocked vent", because it sure sounds like the ejector system's venting through your upstairs bath. Did the ejector system ever work right or has it always been a problem? Let me know, Tom

Sewage ejector pump [ 5 Answers ]

I think my sewage ejector pump may be bad. The fuse for the pump popped and when I re-set the breaker, the ejector pump turns on for several seconds and then the breaker pops again. Does that mean the pump is gone bad or do I have an electrical problem.
