Trane xb1000 fan motor 1/4 HP vs 1/6 HP?
The unit currently has the MOT08895, a 1/4 HP, 200-230 Voltm 1.3 Amp RPM 1100 60 HZ motor 1 Phase motor 42 Frame motor.

The replacement parts list also list the MOTO8803 a 1/6 HP Condenser Fan Motor, 200/230/60/1, 1625 RPM, FLA .98, LRA 2.1, Type : PSC, 42 Frame.

What are the pro's and con's of using the 1/6 HP Condenser Fan Motor?

The smaller motor will fail sooner, as it will be overloaded by trying to move the same amount of air as the origianl.

Replacing condenser on a Trane XB1000 [ 3 Answers ]

EDIT: I was told that my compressor is bad, not my condenser. My apologies. Just bought a house and had the HVAC guy out to inspect the units. Both are XB1000's. He said that one of the units has a bad compressor (not functioning at all) and that it would be a waste of time and money to replace...
