Help get rid of this awful red! I have tried everything.
My hair was all blond done by my hair dress with foils over several years. I decided I couldn't afford the upkeep or have the time to make the appts anymore. I research on Internet how to get back to a medium brown w/o getting crazy green or other colors... I did as I read--went Sally's bought a blond red tone demi color (to fill the hair) and the brown of my choice which was light golden blond. The red was REALLY red! I was shocked but knew that I still had to put the brown on. I put the brown on and it did darken it a bit, but it was still Ronald McDonald red in the sunlight and a light reddish-brown indoors.

Okay... I wore it for a couple of days before seeing how awful it was outdoors. Then I bought some Prell and left that on for 45 minutes and it didn't make much change. Next, I went back to Sally's and bought a ash light brown permanent. That helped a tiny bit, but it made the top look brighter and adding a much more unnatural color to the red. Then a few days later I went back and got medium ash brown demi, that help a little more. Then, another few days I got a demi nuetral/ash dark brown and clear (I have to use two bottles anyway due to having long hair) along with unred and did my hair once again... It is now a dark brown that is much more bearable indoor, however it is still ridiculous outside.

Help me please! I am a busy mom of 3, we have sports, music, along with school and friend. I can't be seen like this, I find myself being very short with people and sending the kids in alone to avoid being seen. I need some serious help!

Thank in advance for any ideas!

Sorry I keep adding more to this info... I also tried the hot olive oil to reduce the red. This was done right after the prell treatment. It did help a little and made my hair feel very strong not oily at all. However, it didn't do enough to the red.

Anyone with any ideas please chime in.

I have read a little about the strippers and color fix products, but I haven't heard anyone with red hair say that it actually got them to a color that they could dye over and looked nice. So, anybody having experience with that I would love to hear from as well. :)
