    J trap leaking
    Removed the trap to retrieve something that went down the drain. When reattacing the j-trap, leaks from the lower nut on the wall side (not the nut closest to the wall). Have undone & redone 5 times... Still a slow leak.

    Make sure the washer is good that fits into J bend and try teflon tape on the J bend threads

    Clean up the threads get a new washer (any hardware store should have this part cheap)tighten up the joint with slip joint pliers not just hand tight, but don't over do it.

    What's your trap made of. Chrome metal or PVC?
    the j-trap, leaks from the lower nut on the wall side (not the nut closest to the wall).
    Here's a "J" bend,(see image) the leak's from the upper nut, correct? Did you know they have two sizes of washer that comes on the side that connects to the tail piece? Check the washer on the tailpiece. If it fits sloppy or anything but tight then you have the wrong size washer. Let me know what you find. Good luck, Tom
