Mold and bugs in apartment in Smiths, AL
We have lived in a new construction apartment in Smiths, AL. We have discovered mold in all of our window sills but mainly in our 2 year old daughter's room due to the extreme amounts of condensation. We contacted the management and they came the next day to investigate. Thy advised that because it was new construction and extremely well insulated, there was nothing they could do to stop water and we would have to mop up water and bleach the sills to keep mold away. We are now forced to mop up water everyday and bleach every other day to keep mold away. We have asked apartments to allow us to give a 30 day notice and get out of our lease and forfeit our security deposit and pay the term fee and they have refused to accommodate and require 60 say notice. Do we have any legal grounds to be able to leave as myself and my 2 year old have been sick since moving in and we have a baby due in March?
