Trying to adjust hot water in shower
I am trying to remove the set screw from the faucet but I don't see one. All I have is a little hole on the back without a screw in it. Is there another way to get it off or to adjust the hot water without removing the valve.

Most have a set screw, some are just wedged on tightly. Pull on it gently. Have you done a web search for your model faucet so you can see it or at least tell us what you have?

Just got a screwdriver with a big enough flat side (to try to turn off the water) and will try tonight when I get home!
