To me it looks like it's a 33000 BTU system (just over 2 1/2 tons). Made in 1995. On a change out of the system it would be good to go with a 3 ton unit. 36000 BTU. A new 2 1/2 ton unit will be right at 30000 BTU. Its good to be just slightly over than slightly under on BTU. KEY WORD SLIGHTLY.

I found out the year of the system it is from 1979 in 1980 Carrier went to a format in the serial number for example 1299 the first 4 digits of the serial # are the DOM. In up until 1979 they used like K9 K meaning October and 9 meaning 1979. It is a 2.5 ton unit.

Maybe its just me, but wouldn't it be nice if they would finally figure out how to just simply print "2 ton, 2 1/2 ton, 3 ton, etc, etc.. I mean really, how hard could that be. Why does it all have to be so incriptive. Are they afraid homeowners might do something awefull with this info or what. Not to mention, it would sure save us techs a whole lot of headache. Oh well, just my thoughts.
