    Probation violation
    My fiancé is on probation in ga, he got a dui and they violated him. People in jail are telling him that there is something called p.a.m.s. Where his p.o. Can go get him out after 15 days... anybody know anything about this law?

    No, for violation of probation in Georgia, he remains in either county jail, or state probation / parole housing, till his hearing.
    The hearing is normally within one to six weeks.

    Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better, we have a 2 month old... do you know anything about that P.A.M.S.

    Unless it is just a local thing in that court, or something new since the last year or two, never heard of it.

    I was a police officer and did DuI a lot and some years ago a probation officer ( all in GA) all of our people, once they were violated for any probation issued, stayed in court till the hearing.

    Now at the hearing, the judge decides what happens, but once violated, only the judge can release, not the PO
