Similar to REO Speedwagon's "In My Dreams"
I remember hearing a song infrequently in the Fall of 1987 during a long car trip to the mid West. It was similar to REO Speedwagon's "In My Dreams" both in melody and story. It also was somewhat similar to Lionel Richie's "Hello" in its emotional tone. I recall that it was a male vocalist, and that the lyrics referenced a woman's laughter from an open office or room. The gist of the song was that a woman didn't know this guy's feelings for her and he could not bring himself to tell her (haven't most of us guys been there once or twice in our lives, huh?).

I am sure that I haven't remembered it precisely as I have described it, but I believe I am fairly close. Can anyone tell me the song title and artist?

The artist was Lionel Richards. It was a beautiful song.

    Flojo213,

I am not able to find any information on the artist that you listed. Did you mean Lionel Richie? Or possibly Cliff Richards? I have run down the discograpy for both of these artists with no luck finding the song.
