    Discharge early in pregnancy
    I am 33 years old and recently found out I am 4 weeks pregnant. However, I have been experiencing a light tan colored discharge for the last 3-4 days and some slight cramping as well. Do you see a problem with my pregnancy? Thank you.

    You could be having a normal occurrence called "breakthrough bleeding," which occurs when the embryo is attaching to the uterine wall. I experienced this with my last pregnancy but not with the other two. My OB/GYN advised me that it was probably nothing, but if I was going to miscarry there would be nothing to do to prevent it (i.e. going home to bedrest). I would see a doctor ASAP, as it might ease your mind.
