    Sounds like the capacitor on your motor is burned. Some motors have 2 capacitors. If you have a volt meter, disconnect power to the dryer, hook up the volt meter (make sure its set to ohms) and check the two terminals. If you don't get a value or a beep, then there is your problem. If you can, remove it, take it to your local appliance parts warehouse and ask for a replacement. They aren't expensive usually, maybe $15. Let us know how it works out.
