I am 18 and sexually active and on the pill. One night I had sex with my boyfriend. We started without a condom but the put one on to be safe. However when I got home that night I was 2 hours late taking my pill. I got my period he normal time that I always do but it was a tan color and more of a discharge than a period, I didn't have to use a tampon or pad. Does this mean I'm pregnant?

1. The pregnancy rate while on the pill is extremely low, but it is there.
2. Two hours late is OK.
3. Brown = old blood that has been exposed to oxygen in the air, very common.
4. Light periods are also very common.

Few young women have the same kind of flow every month. Many tend to even out as they get older, until they start to reach menopause, but there are countless variations. You don't say how long you have been on the pill, and that has an effect on your periods too, also in different ways for different women.

im 14 and i started my period this afternoon i went to the toilet and my pants where all brown and i was thinking to myself why is my period this colour i have been having a few problems with my period it came late i havent had it for 2 to 3months i am reallly concered can anyone tell me what this is many thanks :) x
