    Celing fan swapping
I am needing a wiring diagram for swapping out a normal celing fan, for one with a remote. Is there such a thing?

It should be an easy swap. All the new fan needs is continuous power--thus it will have only 3 wires (black/hot, white/neutral, bare/ground).

Does your old fan have a separate switch for the light? If so, there are probably 4 wires in the ceiling (black, white, red, bare). Determine which wire (either black or red) controls the light and simply cap it off with a wire nut and electrical tape. This will no longer be used.

Hook the remaining 3 wires from the ceiling to the fan, respecting the colors. That should do it.

Note that you'll need to leave the wall switch for the fan always on so that the remote will control the fan. (Actually, when I go away on vacation I flip the switch off)

    Hope this helps,
