Magnavox TV/DVD has slow or unresponsive controls.
TV worked fine until we put in a DVD. Both the remote and the console controls became unresponsive. After disconnecting and reconnecting power to the unit the controls would sometimes work in a delayed manner.

Check if there is an update for the TV's firmware. I'm not sure if the TV is Magnavox or if you are talking about the DVD player. Either way, check the manufacturer's website for any firmware updates. These can usually be applied via a USB flashdrive.

If there are no firmware updates, there are a couple options. If it is under warranty, take it in, or get a service call setup to have the TV's main board replaced. If there is no warranty, I would just deal with it because it will cost a bit to fix such a small issue.

Assuming the TV can have the firmware updated, keep checking the manufacturer's website for updates. It could just be that they have not come out with a fix yet for your particular issue.
