So why are you not keeping in touch with him, why are you not emailing or face book or text or something.

Friend, I don't think anyone can answer your question. Maybe not even him, he may not know how he feels and certainly non-one can predict the future. You may have to resign yourself to letting it sit in the lap of the gods, and just be prepared for either eventuality. Definitely you should not let this take over your life; get out there with your friends, spend time with your family, get deep into work and study, and if the worst happens, you won't have isolated yourself and will have resources to cope. I hope it works out for you, but beware ! I was in this position once, he was the love of my life, and he came back... and it was AWFUL ! Stars in our eyes had blinded us both to reality.
