    New carpet
    Is a landlord required ot put in new carpet when the previous tenent moves out regardless of how long he/she resided there

    First ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

    But generally, there is no such requirement.

    Only HUD and Section 8 and other publicly monitored rentals have rules about such things.
