    Claiming new born on my taxes
    I am a resident alien on H1B Visa, My wife also a resident alien with a SSN. We had a baby boy born on Dec 20 in India. Wife was in US for 9 months in 2011 and then went to India for delivery . Wife and child have not come to US yet.


    Can I claim my new born on my 2011 taxes.

    No, you can not claim the newborn as the baby has never been to U.S.
