A young star college athlete with a promising pro career ahead, looses his leg, from the hip joint down. His sports car is hit by a train returning from a drinking party . He became a totally kept welfare person. After a few years, he finally quits feeling sorry for himself, and attempts to get a job to become self supporting. The agency that was paying for his keep, would not allow him to do so. The cover of the book, (paperback) was a picture of an athletic looking young man, standing on only one leg, but he was ramrod straight. Standing behind him was an angel, and it seemed that the angel was supporting him with a leg that was not his own. I would like to re-read this book, for research on a book I am writing.
