    Laundry room electrical requirements
My daughter recently bought a condo. She had them install the water lines a drain line and they brought 220V line to a double gang box with a neutral and a ground. Want to know if we can tap one of the hot legs and the neutral to get 110V to the washer. The dryer is a 30amp 220V Electric dryer. I figured that the installers knew what they were doing. I believe that I saw 2 hot legs a neutral and a ground, when I took a peak at it. She is finally buying the washer and dryer and I want to make sure the install goes smoothly. Any help would be appreciated. Beth

They ran a dryer line and there is no washer line there?
If this is a laundry there should by code be at least one 120v standard receptacle there on a 20A dedicated laundry circuit.

Unfortunately NO, you absolutely cannot run a standard receptacle off that 30A dryer circuit.
