Just Turned 18, What Credit Card Should I Get?
I just turned 18 not to long ago and I really want to get a jump start on my credit.
My top two cards I'm interested in is the Journey SM Student Rewards Card and the Discover Student Rewards Card.

    Little background info:
    I'm 18
    Live with my parents.
Still in high school, but attending college as well
I do not have a job, but I get money from odd ends
    I have a checking/savings with around 2000 in it.
I have an additional 500 saved at home.
And I have always paid my debts on time.

Please help me figure out what one is best for me. I don't want to get declined...

I would go with Discover as a more well know card. Be sure you can manage the credit before you get it. Don't buy something you can't pay off immediately or very quickly.

I am sorry I would have to say you have no business with a card. You have no income and if you buy something, your parents are going to have to pay it. So if you do get one, it needs to be your parents choice or what card.

Have you discussed getting a card with them, do they approve?

What do you plan on doing with the card ?

Im not sure how it works in Georgia, but in Oregon, if your 18 you can get approved by an agency who wants to. My parents don't have to sign or pay back anything. If I get approved for a card, its on me, not my parents. I figured everybody knew that. Just because I don't have a job, doesn't mean I don't have income. I have plenty of money that I can use to pay of items and a "emergency source" in case of an emergency. Im not like most teenagers who have no responsibility. Im very responsible with money and have been for years. My mother taught me that.

My mom said It was OK to get a card. Just she wouldn't bail me out if I screwed up, which is what it should be in the first place.

As for what I want to do with it, I obviously want to build my credit so I can get somewhere in life and
    Get loans for college/cars.
