Hi There,
About 3-4 years ago, we were scammed by the above mentioned company, thinking it was a one time listing, and also thinking it was our province's directory. It was a listing on the web only, and expensive. So we paid that bill, thinking that's it. Then we get a bill about a year later,for renewal, when we hadn't agreed to this. When we called to dispute, they told us about the *fine* writing at the end of the invoice, stating we had to cancel before the time of the renewal, or something like that.So now the cost would be like $500 to cancel, instead of the $300 renewal. BUT, they could possibly come down with there fee if I was willing to pay it. So needless to say, I did not pay it. Now, after no word from this company for 1-2 years,we get call from Debt Collectors, Rauch_Milliken International, saying they are now resposible for collecting the debt. My question is can they do this,and how should I handle this? We are in Manitoba, Canada.
