Superstart Joyce,
Firstly, welcome to this great site!
Remember, he may be a good friend of yours, not a lover, but my statement or his behaviour is not the last word, nor the last action. Love blossoms out of friendship, but there are many BUTs and IFs, which you can surely delete with effort, dedication and action.
Do one thing. Get a new, dashing and loving haircut. Greet him by wearing sexy, revealing and dashing garments, and he will be shocked to see you in this outfit and haircut. He may cling with you and cry, "Joyce, I love you." But, it is only one of the many options and many possibilities.
Yeah, there is one other method. Talk to him, communicate your feelings to him, and think out what he likes, what he dislikes. Give him gifts and presents. Go on a long walk or long drive with him, if he allows. By being closer to him, you will soon develop intimacy.
