Please help with my heating dilemma
I have my thermostat set at 70 and the temp in the house is 62 So I turned it up to 75 and after 2 hrs the temp in the house is 63 What could be going on? I have electric base board heat. We had a particularly cold night last night and the night before. System seemed to be working but last night It got really cold in the house and I saw the temp was 63. Prior to this it has been working all right this season. The same thing happened last Dec. After a storm where I lost electrical power for like 10hrs. When the electricity came back on, with lights etc, I noticed that the heat was not really coming back up to normal which would be around 67-69. This went on for three weeks. The temp stayed between 58 and 63. It had been all the way down to 42 w/o the electricity. Finally after three weeks it finally made its way up to about 65 to 67 I froze in the meantime, and no one including the Electric Co nor electricians could figure this out. Now it seems to be happening again. Anybody have some idea about this?
