2003 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5 ltr is sometimes hard to start!
Its not the battery for sure cause it cranks no problem. I can get it going but only when the gas pedal is held to the floor, and then when it does fire up it's spitting fuel out the tailpipe. Sounds like it's flooding to me but what would cause this? Leaking fuel injector when sitting still?.

Tmiller, I would focus on the coil, Crankshaft Position Sensor, and the Camshaft Position Sensor. It's flooding, due to an ignition system problem; e.g. no spark or mistimed spark. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Also, check for codes.

Hi, this is a late post, but this will be info for others that will have starting problem.
Try checking the fuel regulator, I had a problem with my 3.5 pathfinder 2003, if the car seats a long time it will start in one click, and in warm engine or even cold, switch off and start it will start 1 click that would be 10 minutes or less to a second, but if you switch off and wait for at least 15 minutes or more, it will be 2 clicks or more or long starting, I have found out that the fuel regulator supply side is leaking from the vacuum hose going to intake manifold slowly, it means that it floods the intake manifold and hard starting will be the result. To test the regulator if leaking, while engine is running, remove the vacuum line at the fuel pressure regulator side fuel should not come out from there, that will apply also on the return regulator, test both sides, the switch off, wait it out till 15 minutes, but mine fuel comes out on the supply side after 2 minutes continuous slow flow of fuel a volume of around 25 ml - 50 ml. it will stop only when the pressure on the pipe line comes out from the regulator, if this does not work on your pathfinder then try other solutions.

    Good luck.
