I have a gas-fired steam boiler 3 yrs. Old and some radiators get no heat.
My bedroom, bathroom, dining room, and 1/2 of living room are COLD. The radiators in these rooms are cold, no matter how high you set the thermostat. Last year all was well. I called the HVAC tech and he said "nothing is wrong", tweaked a few things and left. No results. I have called him for at least 5-6 more visits (with bills in excess of $600) and still no results. He changed the thermo to a simple Luxpro with a slider to set the desired temp and sight glass below with the room temp. This did not fix anything. He finally said he could not be coming to my house since he has 200 other customers and offered to give me back my money. I am not unfair so I declined, and he called back in ten minutes and said he would send over his employee (who had been there 4-5 times). He came and changed a few bleeder valves (he put in two new ones and I had put in three). He put one in the dining room (thermo is in this room) and one in my bedroom. He said this would fix the problem... but to NO avail. Still no heat in these 4 rooms. I have not called him again. Important info: I think the thermo is inferior (he installed a luxpro) and the furnace cycles every 10-15 minutes, sometimes sooner, never allowing enough steam to build up to go to these radiators. I am a senior citizen and live along. I do not like to be cold in every room but the kitchen. The kitchen is 78 degrees and my thermo is set at 70. HELP
