    Adding a new name to a grant deed
    Hi I have a question about how I can add my name to mygrandfather house we have a summer home in forestville ca and me and my family are moving up there the house now is in a trust and willed to me on my grandfathers death already but me and my granfather wants to add me to the title so I can get or take a lone out on it to remodle the house is free and clear can someone tell me what I need to do or who to talk too about this thank you dan

    On this one get an real estate attorney, the trust will have to sell you part ownership of the house basically ( for one dollar and other consideration as the terms in your state go I beleive) then a new deed will have to be made ( not just adding you to an old one)

    Now this may also alter the trust, so the attorney will have to review the trust to be sure it does not have to be redone ( or if it can even stay in a trust)
