Jeep Liberty Sport 2002 FREEZING in WISC
I am at my wits end. I have barely any heat in my car. The controls on dash work. I have replaced the radiator, hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, water pump. Had the system flushed and heater core flushed TWICE. Pressure is steady. No leaks. But if the system is BLED then I get heat for about 5 minutes. After that... back to cool. I have already wasted 8 days in the last two months sitting at 2 different Jeep dealers and 2 independent garages as well. No one can figure out what is wrong. Supposedly the heater core works. And I do NOT have overheating or any other problems associated with head gaskets. This has been going on for a year. I tried going to Chrysler directly online and they told me to take the car to ANOTHER DEALERSHIP or buy a service manual! I am a woman and sure am getting a lot of knowledge lately on cars. I have been told there is some air in the coolant reservoir? But bleeding doesn't fix it. All hoses have been tested, replaced, and clamps as well. Why is this so hard to figure out? I have been told to fix everything from the head gasket to getting a new engine! I am not falling for that... someone please help!

I am a woman and my educated guess is the heater core is somehow not working. A heater in the car is only run off the radiator into the heater core so whoever told you to change out the radiator to fix the problem is a moron. Take it to another dealer and demand they change out the heater core and skip the head gasket or new engine. I know as a woman shops can take you for a ride if you are not careful. Have a man friend take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it and see how easily he gets it fixed if you really want it fixed or just take yourself and demand the heater core is changed out. If there is no leaks in the system then the only thing left is the actual heater core. I have an older Jeep GC and my heater works just fine but the a/c has a leak and does not work any longer after 14 years.
