    Mum's Depression
    Hi All,

My mum has suffered from depression ever since my brother was a baby. He is now 15 years old! In the last 15 years my dad has left home, my grandpa has died (my mums dad), my mum has been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondilytus and she is in quite a lot of debt. I'm struggling to find a way to help her. She has tried to kill herself, she gets so wound up she throws things at me and threatens to kill herself again and tells me I don't care about her which is such a load of rubbish because I love her so much, she's my best friend! I totally understand why she is acting the way she is because she has been through so much. She has been to counselling and the doctors so many times. She's also stopped taking her anti depressant tablets because she is suffereing too much pain from the Ankylosing Spondilytus. I'm 21 and I just wish I had the knowledge to help her. I'm absolutley exausted with it all and I think I could possible be suffering with it myself.

Any ideas of what to do next people?

Have you gone to her Doctor or counsellor with her?

Yes I've been with her at least 3 times! I've taken her to the out of hours hospital one night because she was scared shed try kill herself again. They just said they increase her anti depressants strength but that takes a week to kick in! Her doctor has refereed her to a councillor but she says she isn't helping her. Sometimes I feel as though she's just given up and that's it.
