Wiring bathroom fan/light to separate light/fan switches
I am replacing my bathroom fan and separate light fixture with a combined light/fan exhaust fixture. I have 2 switches;one fed the old light fixture and one fed the old fan. I want to use existing switches to operate the new unit's fan and light separately. The power coming from the combined 2 switches is 6 wires (2 black, 2 white,1 red and ground). The wire coming from the light/fan unit is 4 wires (black[fan], white&red[light], and ground). How do I run the wires to the switches so that the light works from one switch and the fan works from the other?

Assuming that the six wires you described first are the wires in the switch box, there should be two cables(one two wire with ground and one three wire with ground). Inside that box all the ground wiress should be tired together, as well as wires to the green screws on the switches. If it is a metal box there has to be a wire bonded to the box as well. As far as the other wires, the two whites should be tired together, the single black should be pig-tailed and go to both switches. Then the black and red, which are in the three conductor cable, go to the other screw on the switches. Up in the fan the white ties with the whites, black to the black for the fan and red to the black for the light, and green to the green wire..
