Whenever I shut down my computer I receive this error message.


BAITHE-1.EXE - DLL Initialization Failed
The application failed to initialize because the windows station is shutting down.


What is BAITHE-1.EXE and how can I fix this error?

Without the full filename (something not contain ~1) or a path, we can't give you any detailed help, just things to try.

Try clicking on Start --> Run and type in "MSConfig", followed by enter. Check the startup and services tabs to see if anything like the file is there. If there is, uncheck it to disable that program/service from running on your next restart.

Thank you for the help. After going to msconfig I was able to discover what was causing the error. There were a few programs that were running unknown to me in the Startup tab. The one causing the error was actually labeled in the Startup Item list as Bait help. It was running from the
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\anti curb web ball\Bait help.exe
Location. It must have been some sort of virus/spy ware program running unknown to me, which causes major concern to me. I have the latest Norton Internet Security software and wonder what else it has missed. My computer isn't on the tightest security setting because it causes major inconvenience but is still well protected by the other steps I take. There was also two more programs running that I found to be suspicious. One was called mpeg lite.exe located also in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Clock Dumb Store Wipe\mpeg lite.exe
And the other was named body bags.exe and was located in
C:\DOCUME~1\AARONL~1\APPLIC~1\Mpegsoft\body bags.exe
I am going through the rest of my computer to try and self scan some of the more obvious areas but wonder what else I could do to protect myself. Thanks again for the help,

Best thing to do is to download some spyware removal tools and give them a shot. They may pick up and remove a lot of these trouble programs for you. The two I always recommend are Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and Spybot: Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html). Both of these are free. There are number of different programs out there but these are two of the most popular.

Apart from that, it's just a case of watching what you are downloading. If you ever get any prompts while surfing the internet saying something like "Do you want to install..." only ever click Yes if you are 100% sure of what the program is.
