Is it okay to let my puppy sleep in a dog house outside?
I live in the Equator side where it is generally warm weather around here and never snows . So I'm wondering if I could let my puppy sleep in a dog house? I can't let her sleep inside the house because of my parents who are concern over the dog hygiene (its a 'kampung dog') and we live in the village. I've read the internet about how mean it is to let a puppy sleep outside etc, but most of them are from the city or in rural areas so I can't really get a proper answer if its concerning about caring towards a dog in a village area especially about the sleeping arrangement.

I don't understand the difference between city, rural or village difference will cause But many dogs are always keep outside, all of my dozens of dogs have always been outside dogs ( except one). Also what does sleeping arrangements have to do with this.

    How old is the puppy?

What do your parents find "unhygienic" about a dog?

shazamataz : It's a 5-6 months old puppy. My parents find its 'unhygienic' because in the village, there's plenty of grass, dirt, mud for a puppy to play with thus catching some germs. My parents are just worried that my baby twin brothers will caught some of the germs if the puppy goes inside the house. And the village is quite different than the western kind of village, since I live in Malaysia.

Fr_Chuck : A village is a clustered human settlement or community, larger than a hamlet while a city is an urban settlement, for example : London. A rural area is like a town that is a community of people ranging from a few hundred to several thousands. Its about the population, but if you don't really grasp what I said then you could search some images about them. I'm asking about the sleeping arrangement because I want to know the proper ways to care for a puppy or a dog so that my puppy could feel comfortable at home.

Pardon my usage of the English language, its not my mother-tongue.

At 5-6 months he would be fine outside in a well protected shelter.

I like these types of kennels as they don't allow rain to get into the sleeping area:

If the dog is only in your yard I think your parents are being a little overcautious. When you take the dog for a walk on the street or to the park you can get sanitising wipes to remove the germs from the dogs paws. There aren't many illnesses that a dog can pass onto a human.
Their decision though of course but I have lived with dogs in the house and on my bed my whole life and never been sick because of it.
