I have this friend who I have known for almost 6 years. We are good friends. But this one day she asked to do something for her that I don't want to. She asked me to go in for a test at school for her, saying that I was her. She has been very stressed and worried about failing the test, if she failed the test it meant she failed the class. So she has been pleading me for days, saying that the teacher won't notice since we were similar-looking. I know if I get caught I could expelled or somehting. But thinking about saying "no" to her makes me feel very guilty and a bad friend. She has been a good friend to me. I feel like I shouldn't let her down. What should I do? Part of me says no and the other part says yes.

Please help!

If you want to be a good friend to her AND to yourself, you tell her no.

Your instincts are good in that you realize that is the correct answer. And yes, you could be expelled, plus you would terribly disappoint your parents, the other students, and your teachers.

I have been trying to help her study but she always complains that her studying was not helping her and I should help her. I just feel bad for her, I want to be able to help her. I don't want to break up our friendship. This is so frustrating!

First a good friend should not be asking you even to do this. But no you should not do it or even consider doing it. It can ruin your school career.

It is a biology class.

Make flashcards for her (make sure she helps). Biology is mostly a lot of memory work.

A good friend does not ask you to do anything that could get you in trouble.
Tell her cheating is not good and you will not cheat for her.

It looks like you got your answers. Everyone is saying that you tell her you can't do it. Not only is it wrong, and it's not really helping her if you do it, but you could also take the fall if you're caught. It is simply not worth it.

You say she complains when you try to help her study. It sounds to me like she is just looking for the easy way out and doesn't really want to put the effort in to do this herself. You are already doing a great thing by trying to help her study but beyond that, it really isn't your problem to take this test for her.

As others have already stated... a good friend would not be asking you to do something like this.

As an adult. It has more bones as an infant. ;)

And a teacher will know it is not her in a class, that is just silly to think you would get away with it. There is no thinking about it, you say no, I would even tell her that you will not keep talking to her if she keeps this up. She is no longer acting as your friend and is only interested in herself at this point.

What will she do for you, when you and her are both suspended and both of you don't pass this year.
